Work with us

Three ways to be part of SmallBizTech — all editorial, all reviewed, nothing pay-to-rank.

Path A

List a tool or service

If you make or use a real tool or service that helps small businesses, you can apply to have it listed in our directory. Listing is always free — we never charge for placement or charge for do-follow links.

Accepted listings appear under “Listed by the maker” so readers can tell the difference from tools we researched ourselves.

What we check

  • The product is live and links to its official HTTPS site.
  • It clearly helps small businesses and isn't already listed.
  • Pricing is described by structure, not as a dollar figure (prices change).
  • The summary doesn't make “best” or “#1” claims.
  • No adult, gambling, get-rich-quick or misleading products.

We aim to reply within 3 working days.

Describe what it does, not how good it is. No “best” or “#1” claims.

Path B

Write for us

We publish guides, reviews and comparisons written by practitioners with real, hands-on experience. If you've used the software or run the kind of business you'd write about, we'd like to hear from you.

Accepted contributors get a private editor account. Every post goes through our review queue before it's published — we check sources, accuracy and disclosures.

What we look for

  • Real, checkable experience in the topic — not research-only.
  • Writing samples in your own words.
  • Willingness to source every fact and disclose any interest.
  • Agreement to our contributor guidelines.

We aim to reply within 3 working days. If accepted, we'll start with a short trial post to make sure the fit is right for both of us.

Two or three topics from real, hands-on experience, for example “QuickBooks for service businesses, cash-flow planning for sole traders”.

A page, blog post or portfolio that shows your writing. One URL is fine.

Do you have a commercial interest in anything you might write about?

For example: employed by a vendor, paid to promote a product, or an affiliate of something you’d cover. Disclosing this doesn’t disqualify you; hiding it does.

Path C

Partner or sponsor

If your company is interested in a commercial relationship — advertising, a sponsored section, or another arrangement — contact us to start a conversation.

We're happy to talk, but a few things never change: sponsorship never buys a review, a ranking, or a position in our editorial content. Any sponsored content is clearly labelled and uses rel="sponsored".
